This year we have beautiful tulips in our garden. We bought the flower bulbs on our last holidays in the Netherlands 2019. My husband planted them last year.
This is one of those beauties. I was attracted by it’s strong colors and the shape of the open blossom. It reminded me on a beautiful teacup.
Wouldn’t it be nice to have such a tea service? Each cup the blossom of another beautiful tulip?
This is a digital painting, done with Procreate. I used a photo for reference. When I find a perfect blossom in perfect light I usually don’t have time to sit down and start painting immediately. So I make some photos with my iPhone to use them later. Most times I prefer the portrait modus. There are less distortions.
